Frequently Asked Questions

What DAWs are supported? +
ExprX exports vendor-standard Cubase and Nuendo expression maps (.expressionmap). Support for Logic Pro articulation sets and Dorico library files is also integrated.
How does the Library Scanner work? +
It searches selected folders for Native Instruments Kontakt registry files (.nicnt). Once found, it imports library labels, metadata, and mapping presets.
What is the MIDI Wizard? +
It's a virtual MIDI port bridge (e.g. using loopMIDI on Windows) that lets you send keyswitch signals directly from the ExprX interface to your DAW track in real-time.
Can I use ExprX with third-party Kontakt libraries? +
Yes. ExprX scans for any Kontakt library with a valid .nicnt registry file, including third-party vendors like Spitfire Audio, Orchestral Tools, and Cinematic Studio Series.
Is ExprX free to use? +
ExprX offers a free tier with core mapping features. A premium license unlocks advanced template exporting, batch processing, and priority support.
